A moins d'un changement de règles de la part de l'OCC, il nous refera une jaunisse l'an prochain. Quand on voit Ellie Goulding # 1 avec une cover disponible exclusivement sur Amazon, on se dit que la blague ne se limite certainement pas aux vieilles chansons de Noël. Based on the year’s AES total, the equivalent of 153.5 million albums were either streamed or purchased in the last 12 months. The annual rate of increase is up on the 5.7% recorded in 2018.Streaming equivalent albums (SEA) increased by 26% year-on-year to 114.2m units, 74.4% of the AES total (the industry metric used to measure sales and streams on a comparable basis). December saw the highest weekly total of streams – 2.7 billion – ever recorded, and the 2019 total of 114 billion plays on audio streaming services marks the first time the 100 billion landmark has been surpassed in a year.In contrast to the streaming result, physical sales were down 22.8% year-on-year and now account for less than 20% (18.2%) of the total. CDs slumped by 26.5% year-on-year to 23.5m units, although the value of boxsets will likely soften the blow.Digital albums were down 28.2% to 7.3m units, as the industry faces up to a future in which downloads are likely to be a niche business. Digital albums now account for 4.8% of the total, compared to 21.1% in 2015.Vinyl LP sales rose for a 12th consecutive year, with Liam Gallagher’s Why Me? Why Not the most in-demand title, selling over 29,000copies. The top 10 included new album releases by Billie Eilish and Lewis Capaldi, alongside catalogue classics such as Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures and Queen’s Greatest Hits. Si on regarde donc les midweeks top 100 de ce mercredi : Exit donc The Greatest Showman, A Star Is Born, et autres.... Logique pour eux que l'album le plus vendu en 2018, et le troisième album le plus vendu en 2019 se retrouve hors classement dès le début 2020.
