Une question sur cette database a été posée sur UKmix, elle est assez intéressante alors je la met ici, avec sa réponse :

 

Does anybody REALLY know the history of certifications in Germany? How much a GOLD certification meant in the 70's? Anybody knows the precise date when GOLD and PLATINUM certifications were changed respectively from 250,000 to 150,000 and from 500,000 to 300,000? Does anytime in the past GOLD meant 500,000 and PLATINUM one million?  

Because as you can see in the examples below i'm a bit confused about the last certifications for the following albums:  

 

AC/DC's "Back In Black"  

 

3xGold in 1991 = 3x250,000 = 750,000  

 

2xPlatinum in 2003 = 2x200,000 = 400,000 ????  

 

this last certification is for the Epic reissue only?? If it's a actualization of the old sales under the new sales levels why not 3xPlatinum=600,000 or maybe 4xPlatinum=800,000 (additional 50,000 sales since 1991) or even 7xGold=700,000 ????  

 

Sames questions for:  

 

"ABBA Gold"  

 

2xPlatinum in 1993 = 2x500,000 = 1 million  

 

now in 2004 4xPlatinum = 4x200,000 = 800,000 , why not 5xPlatinum = 1 million to match the old certification sales level?? It is a certification only for the reissued "Gold" back in 2001, would that mean "ABBA Gold" total sales are at least 1 million + 800,000 = 1,800,000 ????  

 

"Tracy Chapman"  

 

in 1993 certified 3xPlatinum = 1,500,000  

 

and recently, in 2001, certified 7xGold = 7x150,000 = 1,050,000 ?? Or in this time back in 2001 was still Gold = 250,000 and then 7xG = 1,750,000 ??? This would make more sense because would be an improvement on the '93 figure of 1.5m. For the same reason is 4xPlatinum = 2 million or 1.2m (which means less than the 1993 3xP sales, why not then 5xP = 1.5m ??)  

 

And "Grease"'s 1978 5xGold certification? Means 2.5m or 1.25m ??  

 

Anybody remembers the old rules and time of applicability?

Donc en résumé, des albums certifié à telle valeur sur les anciens critère ont été certifié avec les nouveaux à une valeur inférieur à ce qu'ils ne l'avaient été par le passé.

Alors j'apporte une précision importante car je ne crois pas que ça ai été mentionné :

 

Avant 99 :

Gold = 250.000

Platin = 500.000

 

1999-2002 :

Gold = 150.000

Platin = 300.000

 

Depuis 2003 :

Gold = 100.000

Platin = 200.000

 

 

Cependant, les dates ne correspondent pas aux dates auxquels l'album a reçu sa certification mais aux dates de la sortie de l'album !

Ainsi, un album sortie en 95 par exemple qui est certifié Gold en 2000 n'est pas certifié à 150.000, mais bel et bien à 250.000 !
