MTV VMA's 2017 : Kendrick Lamar, Katy Perry et The Weeknd en tête des nominations

Save the date ! La prochaine cérémonie des MTV Video Music Awards se déroulera le 27 août prochain. L'occasion de récompenser le meilleur des vidéos musicales avec Kendrick Lamar, Katy Perry et The Weeknd, en tête des nominations, et d'introduire une nouveauté historique.

C'est parti ! Chaque année depuis 1984, la cérémonie des MTV Video Music Awards récompense les clips les plus marquants des 12 derniers mois. Après le triomphe de Beyoncé l'an passé, l'édition 2017 se tiendra la 27 août en direct du Forum d'Inglewood, en Californie. Bonne nouvelle, l'émission sera diffusée le lundi 28 août à 21h sur MTV (en VF) et MTV HITS (en VOSTFR) en France. Les nominations viennent tout juste d'être dévoilées, et il faudra compter sur Kendrick Lamar. Le rappeur américain, revenu au mois d'avril avec l'acclamé "DAMN.", décroche pas moins de huit nominations ! Il concourra notamment dans les catégories-reines de la Vidéo de l'année avec "Humble." et celle de l'Artiste de l'année qui, pour la première fois de l'histoire des MTV VMA's, mélangera à la fois les artistes masculins et féminins. Fini les catégories genrées ! Une révolution que la chaîne a déjà mis en place en février lors des MTV Movie Awards, où Emma Watson a remporté le prix du Meilleur acteur ou de la Meilleure actrice.

Une nouvelle catégorie !


A côté de Kendrick Lamar, Katy Perry et The Weeknd sont dans les starting-blocks. La première aura 5 chances de rafler un trophée grâce à "Chained to the Rhythm" et "Feels", le titre de Calvin Harris, tandis que le second, également en lice pour 5 prix, pourrait recevoir le premier Moonman de sa carrière. Jusqu'ici, il n'a jamais été récompensé ! Parmi les nouveaux artistes mis en lumière lors de cette édition, Khalid, Julia Michaels ("Issues") et Noah Cyrus s'affronteront avec Kodak Black et SZA. A noter enfin, l'introduction d'une nouvelle catégorie : celle du "Meilleur combat contre le système", dont l'objectif est de saluer les clips « qui inspirent les spectateurs à se dresser pour combattre l'injustice ».
