Daft Punk, Atomic Kitten... Désormais 136 singles écoulés à 1 million d'exemplaires au UK

En fin d'année dernière, la Official Charts Company compilait la liste des 123 singles qui ont séduit plus d'un million d'acheteurs outre-Manche depuis la création du classement. Il y a quelques jours, la liste a été republiée et contient désormais 136 titres, dont "Get Lucky" de Daft Punk, "Whole Again" d'Atomic Kitten ou encore "Use Somebody" des Kings of Leon.

La semaine dernière, "Get Lucky" de Daft Punk est devenue la première chanson sortie en 2013 à séduire plus d'un million d'acheteurs outre-Manche, un carton phénoménal qui n'a pris au duo électro français que 69 jours, pour une moyenne de près de 14.500 ventes quotidiennes depuis sa sortie en avril ! Un exploit pour le groupe, qui a également battu des records en France avec le meilleur score digital de l'histoire pour "Get Lucky", écoulé à près de 39.000 exemplaires en trois jours seulement. "Get Lucky" est aussi millionnaire aux Etats-Unis mais s'est pour l'heure arrêtée en deuxième position du Hot 100, bloquée par un certain Robin Thicke. Outre-Manche, le succès de son tube "Blurred Lines" est également remarquablement et le titre devrait prochainement intégrer le club des millionnaires, devenant le 137ème membre de ce club très fermé.


Un millionnaire de plus pour Elton John


Car "Get Lucky" en est le 136ème alors que, en novembre dernier, la Official Chart Company publiait le classement des 123 singles écoulés à plus d'un million d'exemplaires. En huit mois à peine, treize titres supplémentaires ont donc passé ce cap. Certains sont très, très anciens, d'autres beaucoup plus récents, comme "Get Lucky" justement. Parmi les heureux élus, on savait déjà que "Gangnam Style" de PSY ou "We Are Young" de fun. avaient intégré les rangs des millionnaires, tout comme "Fight For This Love" de Cheryl Cole et "Call Me Maybe" de Carly Rae Jepsen.

Mais la OCC a annoncé de nouveaux noms qui ont atteint ce cap ces dernières semaines : "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" d'Elton John et Kiki Dee, sorti en 1976, "Mysterious Girl" de Peter Andre, paru en 1995, le tube "Whole Again" d'Atomic Kitten, qui avait passé quatre semaines en pole position en 2001, le carton rock "Use Somebody" des Kings Of Leon (2008), et enfin "The A Team", le premier tube d'Ed Sheeran, publié en 2011. Il s'agit du premier millionnaire pour tous ces artistes sauf Elton John, qui reste en tête du classement historique avec "Something About the Way You Look Tonight/Candle in the Wind" qui, porté par l'émotion entourant le décès de la princesse Diana, avait séduit 4,91 millions d'acheteurs en 1997.
