Billboard Music Awards 2016, le palmarès : The Weeknd et Adele triomphent

Les Billboard Music Awards 2016 ont tenu toutes leurs promesses hier soir depuis Las Vegas. Outre un medley de Britney Spears ou un hommage à Prince par Madonna, le palmarès a braqué les projecteurs sur deux grands gagnants : The Weeknd et Adele !

Hier soir, les Billboard Music Awards 2016 ont récompensé les artistes qui ont fait des étincelles dans les classements américains ces derniers mois. Depuis la T-Mobile Arena de Las Vegas, Ciara et Ludacris ont présenté la cérémonie, retransmise sur NRJ Hits ce soir à 20 heures, qui a réservé bien des surprises, entre la révélation du nouveau clip d'Adele, "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)", l'hommage à Prince par Madonna, un medley explosif de Britney Spears qui a remporté le Billboard Millenium Award, ou encore Céline Dion qui est repartie avec un trophée pour l'ensemble de sa carrière. Sur scène : Fifth Harmony, Meghan Trainor, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Pink, Kesha ou encore Ariana Grande ont fait le show !

Mais le palmarès aussi n'a pas démérité. Evidemment, avec pas moins de 20 nominations, The Weeknd est le grand gagnant des Billboard Music Awards 2016. Le chanteur canadien est reparti avec 8 récompenses, dont celles du meilleur artiste du Top 100, le meilleur artiste radio, le meilleur artiste R&B mais aussi le meilleur artiste streaming, tandis que sa chanson "The Hills" a été primée à deux reprises. Derrière lui, c'est Adele qui a gardé le sourire. La chanteuse britannique, qui a explosé les records avec "Hello" et son album "25", a été sacrée meilleure artiste toutes catégories confondues, meilleure artiste féminine ou encore meilleure artiste du Billboard 200 (le top Albums américain). Au total : 5 prix pour Adele !

Dans le reste du palmarès, twenty one pilots, Justin Bieber ou encore "See You Again" de Wiz Khalifa et "Shut Up + Dance" de WALK THE MOON ont reçu deux Billboard Music Awards, tandis que One Direction, Fetty Wap, David Guetta, Drake ou Major Lazer ont eux aussi été récompensés.
