Il y a 18 ans, une toute jeune artiste de 22 ans vendait son premier projet self-made, Mermaid Vs. Sailor, à ses auditeurs sur MySpace via PayPal. Elle en vendit 70, mais cela sera suffisant pour construire les débuts de Marina and The Diamonds. 2 ans plus tard, MARINA (appelée Marina and The Diamonds jusqu'en 2018) sorti son premier EP officiel : The Crown Jewels et la machine était lancée. Un rapide coup d'oeil sur sa carrière : elle enchaine avec son premier album, The Family Jewels (2010) puis Electra Heart (2012), FROOT (2015), Love + Fear (2019) et Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land (2021). Après avoir fait un joli Book Tour dans différents endroits, MARINA se remet au travail pour terminer son 6ème album. Et c'est le 10 avril qu'elle annonce son grand retour avec son tout premier album en tant qu'artiste indépendante : PRINCESS OF POWER L'album sera disponible le 6 juin 2025 et il contiendra 13 nouveaux titres. La tracklist n'a pas encore été dévoilé entièrement. It’s very much its own thing, but it feels very powerful, and very driven. I think that in the last year, just completing this book and recovering from a health issue, it’s put me in a very different place creatively. I think it's something that people will relate to a lot but also it's very connected to the pressure to stay in girlhood and what that looks like transitioning to womanhood as a pop artist." “I had no intention to do a pop record. But I found my creative partner CJ Baran who is just so talented and it’s just been such an enjoyable experience,” she says. “I think that’s why the energy of this record feels different: It’s part of my evolution as a human being. it’s a really fun record. It has a lot of energy.” Marina sees Princess of Power, which she recorded with producer CJ Baran, as reflecting something true about her inner self. “Maybe to others, I’ve had a bold energy. Internally, I’ve always struggled to feel like I’m allowed to be my own person,” she says. “The album is about teaching yourself — or re-teaching yourself — how to love.” “That’s really key: pleasure,” Marina says. “Throughout the centuries, it’s been denied us that freedom to be silly and messy. Women have been under such a strict patriarchal power for so long, but this is just like, ‘Fuck you.’” “I want women to not be afraid to age. I think it’s not talked about in pop. Pop pretends it’s not happening. We are getting older. Clairement le meilleur extrait des 3, en espérant que le clip soit sympathique et que ça prenne auprès du grand public (mais ça j'ai un gros doute). Bref, du coup j'ai hâte pour l'album et je croise les doigts pour la revoir sur scène en France. 1 Link to comment

Je suis très surpris car je m'étais déjà fait à l'idée de ne pas aimer cet album... Là mon interet reprend! 1 Link to comment
